Govinda’s real name is Govinda Arjun Ahuja. The actor was born in India in the year 1963. He started his career as an actor, later he joined Indian politics.Govinda has earned 5 Film fare Award nominations and 4 Zee Cine Award, 2 Film fare Awards which included a Special Jury Award.  He started with his debut movie i Ilzaam in 1986. Later heacted in more than 120 Hindi films in the Bollywood industry. In 1999, Govinda was rated as the 10thgreatest star of screen for the last 1000 years by the users of BBC News OnlineHis previous films in 1980s, consisted of several genreslike family drama, romantic and drama. He received recognition in 1990s asa comedian acting as a notoriousNCC cadet in the movieShola AurShabnamin (1992) starring opposite to DivyaBharti. He also  played primary roles in many commercially hit comedy films like Aankhen(1993),Coolie No. 1 (1995), Raja Babu(1994), HaseenaMaanJayegi (1999) and Hero No. 1 (1997) .
