He published 3 novels in 1969 including Zero Cool, The Andromeda Strain, and The Venom Business. He published the novel, Grave Descend in 1970/ He was nominated for the Edgar Award for the this novel. He published 2 novels including Binary and The Terminal Men in 1972. Some of the bestselling novels he authored include The Andromeda Strain, Jurassic Park, Congo, Travels, Sphere, Rising Sun, Disclosure, The Lost World, Airframe, Timeline, Prey, State of Fear, and Next.
