Bernard Herschel Schwartz, also known asTony Curtis, was born on 3rd June 1925 to Emanuel and Helen Schwartz. His parents were Jewish immigrants from Mateszalka in Hungary. Bernard Schwartz was one of the Ashkenazi immigrants from Hungary. He did not had any formal education. His acting career spanned 6 decades. He reached the peak of his popularity in the 1950s and 1960s. He had acted in over one hundred films ranging from different genres. His acting skill was shown to have a lot of progresses when he starred in the film Houdini (1953). Bernard Schwartz was recognized as a skilled dramatic actor in Sweet Smell of Success (1957). Bernard Schwartz was nominated for the Best Actor in the Oscar for a drama called The Defiant Ones (1958). His acting career did not gain much recognition after 1960s. His movie, The Boston Strangler had boost his reputation as a serious actor in this movie after 1960s. He also starred in a number of screen comedies and dramas.
