Russel Wendell Simmons was born on the 4th of October in 1957. Simmons was an American in his own way, he co-founded Def Jam-the Hip Hop must label. Further on he went ahead in life and prospered as one of the best industrialists in America. The hip hop music label founder has created a range of fashion lines namely, Argyleculture, Phat Farm, and American Classics. The business tycoon had earned an approximate net of $340 million in the year 2011. His great profit is the reason behind him being described as the third richest man in hip hop music even till today.

Simmons indeed is a man worth praise. His very activities reflect his qualities. He has been known to have been a vegetarian since 1998. Simmons comes under the category of being an extremely unique businessman as he not only talks about Ahimsa but has put in the effort to practice it as well. He love and concern for animals further made him cite animal rights. The business magnet was last seen in November 2013, pledging to support Bill de Blaiso- a New York mayoral candidate-, by appreciating his support for animal rights.
