James Eugene Carrey was born on January 17, 1962 in New market, Ontario, Canada. He is a comedian, Canadian American actor, and producer. He is the son of Percy Carrey who is a musician and accountant, and Kathleen, a homemaker. He is a Roman Catholic. He has older siblings: John, Patricia and Rita. He experienced true stardom when he landed the lead role in the comedy Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. This was after In Living Color, which he appeared in, ended. He also played lead roles in The Mask and Dumb and Dumber. He starred in the superhero film Batman Forever. Jim has Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Jim has been married twice: first to Melissa Womer, a former actress and then to Lauren Holly, his co-star in Dumb and Dumber. He dated actress Jenny McCarthy too. He has a daughter, Jane Erin Carrey, from his first marriage, who was a contestant on American Idol.
