 “Your Humanities Half Hour” radio program of this Sunday will mark presentation of Jessica Jordan from the Cultures in War: Islanders, Combatants and Settlers in the Pacific War as well as subsequently history conference that took position this earlier June as the main part of the Battles of Tinian and Saipan’s 70th Anniversary.

Jordan is a candidate of Ph.D. in the History Department at the California University, San Diego concentrating in modern history of Japan. She offered their paper titled, “Colonial Subjects and Military Men: Experiences of the Pacific War in the Northern Mariana Islands Among Common and Elite Indigenous Islanders” regarding the native participation of Northern Mariana Island Chamorro in the occupation and invasion of Guam as scouts as well as interpreters and the misapprehensions of their role throughout that particular time.

“Your Humanities Half-Hour,” supported by the Northern Marianas Humanities Council as well as hosted by Catherine R. Perry, airs every Sunday hours of daylight from 2 to 2:30 p.m. on the Power 99.

The particular show features different type of interviews with researchers, scholars, community members and teachers, on the broad range of topics related to humanities.
