Denzel Hayes Washington Jr was born on December 28, 1954 in Mount Vernon, New York USA. He is a film producer, actor and film director. Among the awards he has received are two academy awards for being the best supporting actor, two golden globe awards and a Tony award. He is the son of Lennis a beauty parlor owner and Reverend Denzel Hayes Washington. He got a B.A in drama from Texas College and journalism from Fordham University. He has starred in Mo ‘better blues, he got game, and the hurricane and Mississippi.He got an academy award for best actor for the film Malcolm X where he played the role of Black Nationalist leader. He got married to Paulette Pearson in 1983. They met when he was acting in the film Wilma. They have four children, Katia, John David and Olivia and Malcolm who are twins. He got and honorary doctorate degree from Fordham university. Washington was awarded honorary doctorate form Morehouse College.
