Thora Birch was born on 11th March 1982 in Los Angeles, California. She starred as Molly Johnson in Purple People Eater (1988), which won her the Best Young Actress Under Nine Years of Age in Young Artist Award. She appeared in a number of short films including Itsy Bitsy Spider (1992) and The Dot (2004). She starred as Hallie O' Fallon in All I Want for Christmas. She appeared as Sally Ryan in Patriot Games. She won the Best Young Actress Starring in a Motion Picture for her role as Billie Pike in the film, Paradise (1991). She voiced as Vega in the episode, Escape from Cluster Prime in My Life as a teenage Robot (2005). She stared as the main role in 12 episodes of Parenthood (1990-1991), She starred as Jane Burnham in American Beauty (1999). She won several awards for this film including Screen Actors Guild Award, Young Hollywood Award, Young Artist Award and YoungStar Award. Other movies she starred in are The Smokers (2001), Ghost World (2001), Winter of Frozen Dreams (2009) and Petunia (2012).
