Jake Gyllenhaal mini bio: Jacob Benjamin Gyllenhaal was born on December 19, 1980 in Los Angeles, California, U.S. He is of Jewish religion. He is the son of Stephen Gyllenhaal, a film director and Naomi Foner, a film producer and screenwriter. He has an older sister, Maggie Gyllenhall, who is an actress. For two years he dated actress Kirsten Dunst. Then he dated Reese Witherspoon who was his co-star in Rendition. He then dated singer-songwriter, Taylor Swift before having a relationship with model Emily DiDonato. He is now dating model Alyssa Miller. He is active in politics for he visited the University of Southern California with his sister to encourage the students to vote during the US elections in 2004. He was raised in a family concerned with social issues and when he participated in an advertising campaign by The American Civil Liberties Union, his family was in full support. He is environmentally conscious and regularly recycles. He enjoys wood working and cooking during his free time.
