She is the older sister to actress Jelka Van Houten. Through her career in films and television she has won five prestigious Golden Calf Awards for her performance. Her best movies include Suzy Q, Undercover Kitty, The Happy Housewife, Black Book and Black Butterflies. Being a singer she had launched her albumin 2012 named See You on the Ice. She was in a relationship with her Black Book co-star but they called it off in 2009. Interesting Houten has stated that the life of Hollywood is quite boring and she would not want to settle there but live in Europe. However, if she is offered a good role she would willingly go for it.
