Pamela Suzette Gier who is more famous as "Pam" Grier was born on May 26th, 1949 and is an American actress. She rose to stardom in the early 1970s after starring in many of the prison and Blaxploitation films which included amongst others The Big Bird Cage in 1972. The actress was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Her mother was Gwendolyn Sylvia, a homemaker. She was also a nurse and her father was Clarence Ransom Grier, Jr. She also has one sister and one brother. It was in 1967 that she moved to Los Angeles, California. Her first job was as a receptionist at the American International Pictures (AIP) company. However, it was Jack Hill who discovered her and who gave her the break. In 2013 she won the award for the movie Grand Theft Auto V.
