David John Mathews commonly known as "Dave" was born on January 9, 1967 in Johannesburg, South Africa .Dave is the third born in a family of four children. He is the son of John and Valerie Matthews. They moved to Yorktown Heights in Westchester County, New York. He is a singer, actor and musician from South Africa. He is the lead vocalist of Dave Mathews Band. David usually plays with his guitar and prefers rhythms.  The Dave Mathews band sold tickets in that broke the record in the year 2000 to 2010. This increased their income.He dated Jennifer Ashley Harper and they got married in 2000. They have two daughters who are twins, Stella Busina and Grace Anne. They also have a son, August Oliver. He is in the Farm Aid Board of Directors together with Willie Nelson and Neil Young and they raise money to help family farmers.
