Meryl started her stage career in the year 1971 where she was casted in a stage performance in The Playboy of Seville.

In the year 1977 she got her first television movie The Deadliest Season, where she received acclaimed fame and name in the acting industry. Her success followed with a great achievement when she worked for ‘The Deer Hunter’ and ‘Kramer vs. Kramer’ and then she never looked back.  The American actress Meryl Streep won many Awards and nominations in most wanted academy Awards and Golden Globe awards. She was nominated 17 times in the Academy Awards and 27 times in Golden Globe awards which is highest number of nominations every banged by actresses in the history.
