Kate has got recognition for the Titanic film where she was playing the lead role. She is the daughter of Rodger John Winslet, a swimming pool instructor and Sally Anne who is a barmaid. She starred in Hamlet and Jude. Kate got married to Jim Threapleton in 1998. Kate and Jim have a daughter called Mia Honey Threapleton. They got divorced in 2001 and Kate got into a relationship with Sam Mandes; she got married to Sam in 2003. They had a son Joe Alfie Winslet Mandes. They got divorced in 2010.
