He got into acting when he was thirteen years. He has played roles in television such as Mr. Show,life goes on and northern exposure. He was engaged to Tanya Haden in 2006.They got married on March 14, 2006. He has two sons, Samson Jason and Thomas David Black. High fidelity is the film that led him to stardom. He was one of the hosts for MTV movie awards in 2002.
