David Tennant mini bio: David John McDonald was born on November 22, 1902 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and he died on August 8, 1979 in Palm Springs, California. He was born to David and Mary McDonald, who were Welsh immigrants. From 1952 to 1965, David was an American labor leader and president of the United Steelworkers of America. He was a union activist and was run out of Springfield, Illinois as a result of being an activist. He went to the Carnegie Institute of Technology and studied drama and dancing. In 1932, McDonald became an amateur actor after graduating. He got elected as president of the Congress of Industrial Organizations in 1940. McDonaldhelped Murray in negotiating contracts. He also represented the union at events. Davidpublished his autobiography known as the Union Man: The Life of a Labor Statesman in 1969.He was not invited to the 1966 convention. He was not lucky again as he was not invited to the USWA convention was held in Las Vegas.
