James Maury Henson was born on September 24, 1936 inLeland,Mississippi.He is commonly known as Jim and is a screenwriter, puppeteer, film director and inventor. Jim has performed in a number of television programs as a puppeteer such as the Muppet show, Sesame Street,the great Muppet caper. He has created puppets like the dark crystal, labyrinth and fraggle rock. He got nominated for the film time piece and also an Emmy award for the best television producer.He died in 1990 as a result of organ failure. He went to university of Maryland, college park.He was the son of Paul ransom Henson and Betty Marcella.He was the founder of Jim Henson foundation that was meantto promote puppetry.James was married to Jane nebel from 1959 to 1986 and later they got separated. Henson had five children; Brian Henson, Lisa Henson, Cheryl Henson, heather Henson and john Henson.
