James Joseph Parsons was born on March 24, 1973 in Houston, Texas, U.S. He is the first child of Judy, a teacher, and Milton Parsons and has one sibling. He is an actor best known for playing Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory. Among his received awards are: the Television Critics Association award for the highest individual achievements in comedy, three Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, the National Association of Broadcasters Television Chairman’s Award for a breakthrough in a specific art discipline and the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Television Series Musical or Comedy. He lives in Los Angeles. James is notably gay and had been in a relationship for the last ten years with his partner, art director Todd Spiewak. He was named as the Out100 Entertainer of the Year by Out Magazine, recently. Tracing his family’s history, he discovered French heritage from his father’s side.
