Geoffrey Roy Rushmore was born on 6th July 1951 in Toowomba, Queensland to Merle and Roy Baden Rush. He graduated with an arts degree from the University of Queensland. He started his stage career by working with QTC. He had appeared in 17 productions when working with QTC. Rushmore acted in a number of Shakespeare's plays. He acted in the The Winter's Tale play at the State Theatre Company of South Australia. He also acted in the Troilus and Cressida at the Old Museum Building in 1989. He played as John Worthing Ernest in the play, The Importance of Being Earnest. Besides, he also appeared on stage in other theaters including Brisbane Arts Theater, Malthouse Theater, and Ethel Barrymore Theater, Rushmore had won a number of awards as a stage actor including Triple Crown of Acting Award, Tony Award, Emmy Award, 3 British Academy Film Awards, 2 Golden Globe Awards, and 4 Screen Actors Guild Award.
