Salma Valgarma Jimenez was born on September 2, 1966 in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, Mexico. She was born to Dian Jiménez Meldina and Sami Hayek Dominguez. He has a brother Sami, who is a furniture designer. Salma is a Mexican actress, producer and director. The Telenovela Teresa was her first film she has also starred in El Callejon de los Milagros. She moved to Hollywood in 1991 and played a role in Wild Wild West, dogma and desperado. Frida was the film that led her to stardom. This film has made her get several awards such as BAFTA awards, academy award, golden globe award and screen actors guild award for being the best actress. She has produced El Coronel No Tiene Quien Le Escriba, she has also produced the television series ugly Betty. She got engaged to Francois-Henri Pinault and gave birth to their daughter Valentine Paloma.They got married in 2009 on Valentine’s Day.
